Mentors
We are actively seeking Personal Mentors, Subject Matter Experts, and RoundTable Speakers to work with our 2013 Fellow Cohort! If you think you would like to volunteer your skills and passion, please contact Sara Massarik at smassarik@gojcc.org.
Drawn from Chicago's base of seasoned professionals, Mentors support Fellows by providing counsel in an area of expertise, support through potential networking opportunities, and an example as a role model.
1. Personal Mentor
Role: The personal Mentor works with one Fellow over the six-month program, providing guidance related to milestones and the general development of the venture.
Time commitment: The personal Mentor will attend a dinner orientation to understand the fellowship's structure process. The personal Mentor spends about 2 hours per month working with his Fellow.
2. Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Role: The Subject Matter Expert offers office hours where fellows meet at your office to seek specific assistance in your area of expertise.
Ideal if:You have expertise to share, but not much time. Especially helpful in the fields of law, finance, marketing or accounting.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours a month
3. Round Table Presenter
Role: The Round Table Presenter provides one two-hour session to speak about his experience building his venture, relating these lessons to the topics of that month's seminar.
Ideal if: You have started your own venture and have a good lesson to share.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours (one evening)
